Sorry my mistake on the wording, they are no longer produced. And until I see one on the road, they are still a plan, not a reality.

When are they set for release anyway, 2009, so they will be out fall 08, thats a year and a half from now. Psssh by then the Mustang will have a new design, and chevy will be like "Damn it, start redesigning, lets shoot for 2011 this time.", "They still have that crappy ole small liter V8 that keeps up with our 1.5 liter larger motor"

The extra displacement is so it can run NA

NA motors GENERALLY last longer and have less problems than boosted ones

Is that why semi's run for hundreds of thousands of miles, being under some much stress most of those miles?

Granted im not running a diesel but, the are turboed.

semi's run for hundreds of thousands of miles because the top end on an inline 6 diesel is worth more than your car. it has nothing to do with the fact that they are boosted. in fact, the turbos cause about 80% of the engine failure on a diesel. so ha

So is that why they still make them with turbos? I guess if I was constructing something and the failure rate was 80%, assuming your statistics or sourcesare correct[:-], because of one thing i would find an alternative route. Or I would be the chiefengineer at an American brand/Mexico manufactured car "manufacturer"...

And it's not worth a 85 Camaro though is it?

i never said that they have an 80% failure rate, i said 80% of ENGINE failures, when they occur are due to the turbos. when they work they work great, because they were engineered for forced induction, where as autmotive engines were not. if automotive engines were designed for forced induction, cars wouldnt sell less for 50,000. and a diesel engine top end is worth more than your car or my car.
