subwoofer and amp question

for the money, i would buy a single 12" ported D3. you can get them for like 300 bucks @ a audio store. or like 100 bucks for sub and 100 buckks for box + shipping online.
it RMS's at 400, so, when you're ready to upgrade the amp, you wont need a new sub..

thats what i have in my ION, and it's getting pushed by 600 watts.

I've been thinking about getting something similar to that. My big problem is I actually need that little space back there. I've been looking into sub kits that will fit into that hole on the left. You wouldn't happen to know of any good companies to look into for this would you? I'm not worried about the "pingy" fiberglass. I'm just not a radio nut like most people

JL makes a stealth box, but im pretty sure it's upwards of 500 dollars. you can buy the D3 and set it on top of "gas tank" but dont screw it in unless you use tiny screws, or custom make something that WONT screw into gas tank like i did

its made out of mdf, so the sound would even be decent. That gives me my storage space back. I don't think I'll get the subs you had, too much for me

lol. the Pioneers i actually picked up for 110 a piece. they normally sell for like 280 a sub though.. for that box, i would prolly get.. lemme go look. lol.
