Default subs sound muddy...

I recently installed 2 12" Pioneer subwoofers in a custom box just for the Camaro. Each sub can put out 1000 watts. I have a Rockford Fosgate amp pushing them. I don't know why, but they aren't hitting right, they sound muddy instead of that nice deep tone. Some of my friends think it's the box they're in. The box is sealed, not vented. The wiring is correct. Can anyone help me out?

Nevermind I got the problem fixed....it turns out that they were actually wired wrong....one waspulling and one was pushing so they were phasing each other out. Now they sound so AWESOME! thanks anyway
