Default sub enclosure

now i just bought 2 12" alpine type R, i dont have an amp yet, but i was thinking to get a rockford fosgate P1000-1bd but i am not sure, let me know what amp i should get, what i want to do is have the subs face tords the back window hatch, with a non ported box. but i am n ot sure what will sound better, for base, i listen to rock and rap music, and i was told that a un-ported box will work best for the rock music, please let me know what way i should face the box, and how whould i do it, i whould also like to still see out my back window, if possible, or i also found this website for my subs whould this be good. http://www.subthump.com/images/camaro/well/trip30th.jpg

Sealed boxes are great for rock. Tight and clean. Ported boxes are generally louder but not as crisp. For rock that means muddy bass drums. It's a pick your poison sort of thing. My preference is always sealed.

nice subs type rs are great you will be hitting hard if you get the p1000.1 but check the subs to see what ohms they are you should get the 4ohms to get the most out of the that amp. As for the box get a prefabricated box from any audio store because no matter what the hatch is going to make it sound great.

alright noobs step aside. heres the plan patna, u get online, u go to audio enhancers website, u order a box for roughly 150, u get a legit thousand watt amp, not that sony bs, and then you wire the subs for 1000 watts. keep in mind i think that fosgate amp is 1000@1ohm, and u dont want to run the type r's at 1ohm,

check out my system, their 2 kicker comp vr's which is the exact same thing as a type r just a different brand.

o for the love of god please dont listen to Skippysnax, PLEASE. cvrs and type rs are not the same thing not by a long shot, type rs have some much better excursion. CVRs are pure **** and i would never run them again. Ive ran a 2xt1000 power fosgates one to each type r and they never ****ted it out. I ran ran a 501s to 2 CVR 10s and they could not handle it they struggled. Just because they ave similar ratings doesnt mean didly. As for the box walk into a audio express or best buy they should be able to get you a good box. U dont run subs at omhs u drive amps at one ohm and please dont listen to that bs about low ohms being dangerous your p1000 will run all day in summer at 1ohm, ive ran a dsm100 at .25 aka 1/4 of an ohm. That doesnt mean that you should run your p1000 at .25 ohms. Trust me your going to be banging with those type rs.

ok well thanks for the reply's now i just need to know if it is ok to run 600 watts to each sub my type r are 4 ohm because i was thinking i might go with 2 alpine pdx1.600 1 for each sub, i just want to make sure i am getting the full use out of my subs, or whould i be using the subs at full potential if i used alpine pdx 1.1000 and should i get a digital capacitor and if so should i get 1 for each sub. i am trying to make a all alpine system

mixing brands wont cause a problem, ive heard a p1000.1 with 2 type rs and it was bumping hard. the pdx1.600 run there max a 4ohm or 2ohm so they would work same for the 1000.1. The thing is that those are freakin expensive and not worth the price imho. I would get the p1000.1 or the power version t1000.1 realisticlly the p1000.1 is going to kick out about 1250 watts and the t1000.1 will kick out about 1400watts. So either way is good but i would go with fosgate because they are the better brand. As for a cap i wouldnt do it. Get a gel cell battery like kinetik or powermaster in the back and do the big 3
