wouldnt the speedometer be a little off too. is there any way to change it or reprogram the tach?

 

No, I have carried my GPS with me, and the speedo was dead on. I believe both the 6 and the 8 use the same Vehicle Speed Sensor so to make the speedos work, the needles move at different rates. There is something you can buy from Dakota Digital that is supposed to make the tach read right. I haven't bothered with it yet.

 

did u just get the cluster out of a used z28?

 

Yeah, I bought it off someone on ebay for like $50. It is possible to swap out the odometer, if you are curious. They are plugged in inside the cluster itself.

 

im definintley interested now. i just dont have the money for it right now. cai comes first lol
