Default Sidekick Speaker Help

Hey, i have a 93 4 door sidekick as my DD, and i was wondering if i can put 5 1/4" speakers in the front, i would need to make an adjustment for them to fit, but would it work, or would it be too much power, because the speakers in there now are smaller than the ones i want to put in.

It would just depend on what the rating for the speakers are that you want to put in there. If the rating is over what your head unit will put out, which it should be, then you'll be fine.

Well its an aftermarket, Panasonic with mp3/ipod compatibility, so it should be fine?

yeah, probably 25/50 watts, so as long as your speakers are in or above that range then it'll be fine.

Wouldent it be that my speakers would need to be in or below that range of wattage?

no, if they were rated for below that wattage, then you might blow them pushing them. They should be probably 45-60 watts, if it's above then you won't blow them, but you won't get the maxium loudness (db) out of them.

I dont see anything that says the wattage on the speakers, but it does say, 4 Ohm, and RFA-54.

Does that mean anything about the wattage?

Most car speakers are 4 ohm, I tried running the RFA-54 to see if that was a model number but didn't come up with anything. What brand are they? do a search for the brand and the RFA-54 and you should come up with a page with the specs for those speakers. If the recommended watts are in or above the 25-50 then you'll golden and you'll have no problems. I'm 99.999999999999999999999999% sure you wouldn't have any problems, but just for your ease of mind, look it up and let me know what you find. Post up the link if you find one.

I had a total brain fart, they are fosgate speakers right? The RFA-54 is the model number, RF meaning Rockford Fosgate. Here's the install guide for these: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftec...leMids_MAN.pdf According to this, they are rated for 50/100, so they will work fine.
