ohms question
its the resistance. the 8 ohm sub resists the flow of charge more than the 4. what you could do is hook up 2 4 ohm subs on one circuit in series and 1 8 ohm sub on another and the total current flow would be the same across both circuits.... but i just know that from physics..... for all i know it might sound like ****..... depends on the amp & what it can handle for wiring config. Also are they svc (single voice coil) or dual? Here's a good calc that will show you the diff wiring options to get the impedence you want. At top of page just click how many subs & what ohm/vc & it will show you the wiring options with what the final load will be.
