Default iPod with stock stereo?

I've been searching for this but I have not really found an answer. I have the stock Monsoon stereo in my 2000 Camaro:

Now there you can see the infamous Aux button... does anyone know if you can hook up an iPod to that? Or is the only solution besides replacing the stereo an FM transmitter?

No only the single built in CD player. I'm guessing you would normally hook up a changer to the Aux, so I'm wondering if an iPod is also possible.

You might check this out... I'm not sure how he did it, as I'm not a genius when it comes to radios.

No problem. If nothing else you can get the FM transmitter. I went driving around with one of my friends when I visited her in Illinois, and she had the Ipod connected to an FM transmitter, and it sounded clear as can be to me.

i'd go for an fm transmitter that hooks into your little lighter jack

they charge your ipod while its playin the music and its clear as day

its probably the best thing i've ever gotten for free in a long time

the one i have has a range of 15 feet so theres no way i'd lose the signal at all

Ok so it's a couple months later and I found this:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_581PA11...ce.html?tp=120

This is what I was looking for, but before I buy it I want to know if there are any aftermarket head units for this price ($140 or less) that sound as good or better than the Monsoon stock one? Or am I better off just getting this kit for the stock one?

Nice find. As for the Monsoon, I thought I read somewhere on here that all it powers is the tweeters. I don't really know much about it, except what I have read on here. I would think another CD player would be fine, but don't quote me on that.
