Default Hooking up my iPod

has anyone here had their stock system modified or something added so they could hook up their iPod? If so would you recommend the best thing to purchase? I haven't used cd's for 2 years now and the radio stations are really lacking....thanks much!

Yeah an iPod FM transmitter is okay. There is however an Aux button on the stock Delco CD player, its below the CD button. This leads me to believe that there is an Aux input somewhere in the car. I think there might be one on the back of the HU? If so you could just just a stereo Aux cable under the console and have it feed through somewhere so that you can hook up your iPod. Like I said though, I'm not sure if there is an Aux input, but since there is the button for it there should be...right?

Hmmm...an aux....

well I did look over the car and found this...
it is supposed to be some sort of aux plug or jack.
it looks empty though so I am not sure this will work....

Thats a charging outlet, with a plastic cover. I think you'd be better off getting an iPod FM transmitter as bill said. Just be sure to have your iPod volume set halfway and control the overall volume with the HU. It'll probably say that in the instructions too. Good luck.

for mine, I am looking at a sony deck with a Aux plug in...as well as a USB which is only good in certian vehicles because it sticks out a few inches and if someone is trying to crawl across the seats it could get damages

theres a set up for it on my car but i have no clue how it works.i should try using it though.it looks like a regular 3m jack plug in though.but thats what the ipods/mp3 players have so would i need a 3m jack that connects to another 3m jack.or do they even make that??

Yeah they make them. You can pick one up at Radio Shack or something. Make sure it has two black bands around the metal tips, and that the tips are golden. They run like $3-$4.
