Default GROUNDING LOCATION???

Hey everybody - Newbie with a question. What is the typical grounding location you guys use for a 2000 camaro. I am having some troubles with an amp I installed and I am thinking it is a bad ground. I am working at the passenger side behind the spare - and I am not sure what will work for a good grounding location. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks - Jared

Any area that is unpainted should work. In the trunk area scrape the paint off to the bare metal and gound it there.

the grounding cable provided with the wiring kit isn't very long - and it shouldn't be - but i scraped all the paint off around a bolt that holds the bumper on - the amp was working great - and then it stopped - blew all the fuses and so on - i wasn't sure if that just wasn't a good enough ground - when you refer to the seat hinge bolt - are you sating the bolt at the top of the rear seat for where it locks back?

It sounds like you just have a short or the amp got too hot. Are you running it at full power?

well the gain and bass boost are both down - however i am running two dvc 4ohm subs to it wired at 2 ohms each - it is a 2 channel amp - and it is rate to run at 2 ohms per channel - i may need to wire the subs up at 4 ohms and see how it does - i just need to get the amp to stop popping fuses for now - it worked great for a day - now it is blowing the fuses and smokin -it is probably shorted internally - it is still under warranty

no - the amp isn't bridged, but both subs are 4ohm dvc wired @ 2ohm
amp is 480x2@2ohms
