i have a 94 v6 and am putting an alpine 12" and m500 amp. what is the best battery? and do i really need a capacitor? and if so how many farads?

Altima yellow top is the best you can get (budget minded) for high current draw vehicles. You really shouldn't need a cap, but if you do just for the sake of it, then a 1 farad will do. I would suggest to not go ebay for this, get a good name brand cap.
