that is a very wrong statement. Everyone who thinks that a "cap" works is wrong. and I will explain why.

say you go out and buy a "1 farad Capacitor" for $35 bucks.

here is a farad to amp hour conversion

1 Farad = 1 Ampere second per Volt. 1 F = 1 As/V

so

1 Ah (Amp hour) = 3600 As

so

3600 As / 12V = 300 As/V = 300F

so say you go out and buy an extra lead-acid battery with a rating of 50 amp hours for around $100-ish dollars. that will actually help support your system way better than a small cap would be able too. Also when a cap discharges its voltage drops. with a lead-acid battery that is different, when a lead-acid battery is still half full it still has about the same voltage, maybe only a little lower than what it had originally.

so if you have a true 800 watt RMS system or better you will need better electrical to be able to support it. like mentioned before a big-3 upgrade is Essential and should be the absolute first thing done. 0 gauge wire and an extra battery should defiantly help with your voltage drop when your sub hits, and if your alternator is on its last legs a new HO alt wouldn't be too bad of an idea at all.

I may be new to the site and not know much about camaro's (yet) however one thing I know is audio and electrical. It really doesn't matter to me if you say you've been installing systems since you were born and you swear by them, well good for you.

Can someone give me a few brand names of good speakers? Mine blew out, and I've been looking for some new ones, but I'm not very experienced with speakers so I don't know what to get.

Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer, Alpine...Avoid Sony Xplod, seriously they're garbage.

Will any speakers work in my 01 Camaro? Or do they have to be a specific kind? I was looking at Pioneer TS-G1045.
