well do you just have the two speakers on your two channel amp. also what kind of head unit do you have. and a common misconception is that distortion is what will blow your speakers, so if your amp is not tuned properly you will definitely blow them. and any source unit will distort typically 3/4 of max volume will begin clipping of the signal both going into the amp and at the amp's output.

A cap = capacitor. And don't waste your money, it won't help.

I'm thinking about just re doing my system. I need a new box because the guy who built it didn't leave enought room to fix my t-tops in the back. While I'm at it, I will change my door amp to a 4 channel and throw in so Memphis Audio door speakers. Sounda like a plan?

I got a problem...my left speakers keep coming and going. Sometimes they make noise, sometimes they don't. Depending on weather and road conditions. lol. Had someone open the door panel and check em out, they said there was no loose wire or anything to be checking on.

And another thing I wanna know. I got a 1200amp and a 1000watt pep boys sub box (mad tyte yo) with two 10 inch (not sure) subs on it. MDX or something, I dunno. Would I need to upgrade the alternator and the battery to run this thing? The last owner was running it and it all just came with the car, I disconnected it cause my car was all messed up back then.

ayo help me out bras cuz this goina be hella sick aight foshooo (bay area street talk thaz wazzup haha)

I doubt you will have to upgrade your alternator.. UNless your going to install maybe 3-5 amps in the back with caps.

Nah, your alt should do fine with one amp. Unless of course your alt is getting weak.. Make sure its charging at 13.8-14V when on a load.. if so, your fine!

Your speaker, its probably starting to fail out.. or its faulty.. I would trace the short speaker wire to the deck and see if there is any cuts or splices.. If not, then its your speaker.. or your output on your deck...
