I've finally started working on my car again. I've got about 50 miles on the car and am tired of seeing it in pieces sitting at home. I'm going to change up my carputer, stereo, and my amp rack.

Here are the amps I decided one. I looked at these amps a couple years ago, but they are hard to find one let alone in good condition so I was turned away from them. I still really liked them and ended up picking up a very nice PRS-X220 off ebay last fall so that kind of got me started. Then just by chance this week on DIYMA I saw that someone had a PRS-X720 that they were planning on selling soon and I PM'd them expecting one in so-so condition and this is what I found:




I have never seen one for sale with the original box let alone a birthsheet and boy is that sheet impressive 682 watts at 4 ohms. They are said to be stable down to 1 ohm with adequate ventilation, but I will pry be running it at 2 ohms.

I'm also watching for another X220, X320, or X340 so that I can go active again with this setup.

 

I like your carputer I was thinking of doing that too but instead I decided just to put my whole laptop in the car like the po-po

a quick question what are you using for power? a power inverter? or something seperate.

 

Thanks, I'm using a M2-ATX. It's a power supply and startup/shutdown controller.

Yes it is still in the car. I haven't had the car out for a couple years tho. My fiancee as been wanting me to get it out, but I've been busy.
