OK people I'm looking to add a little light to my interior I recently seen a guy add L.E.D.'s to his head liner to add more light ,color and depth to his interior and they came out pretty good! So I was looking to do the same.. My only problem is my I'm no electrician! And need a little help with resistors and wiring.. So here is my idea ( picture below) can some one please draw me up something similar to show how I should wire it , what fuses to work with and where should I get the power from.....? I purchased another headliner to kind of play around with and determine how I plan to add the holes to the fabric with out causing the headliner to peal or become damaged. . .

Well you can get your constant from the orange 10awg wire running along your steering column. That will give you power at all times. As far as the relay is concerned (the one i am using is a Bosh).Ok most Bosh relays are 5 pin or post. They are numbered if you look at them. They should be something like 87,87a,85,86 and 30.30 is about always common,87a is normally closed while 87 is normally open (picture a light switch), and 85 and 86 are relay coils.85 and 86 is what is powered. It normally doesnt matter which one you use (85 or 86),either way will activate the coil.So to try and clear this up a little more for you run the constant (orange) wire to either 85 or 86.Whatever you want to control goes to 30.In your case the switch.I hope i didnt confuse you here, if so let me know and i can try another way.As far as the radar detector we have either spliced and tied into the constant wire at the lighter or went to the constant at the deck.
