Painting Question
So some drunk idiot hit my passenger mirror of of my 2000 V6. I'm in the process of ordering a new manual side mirror and i was wondering if i could buy one to match the color of my car or if i had to paint it. If i am going to paint it, then where do i find the color to match it? and the clear coat. I should be able to use an automotive spray paint and then a clear coat right?

Cheapest thing to do is to buy two finish black mirror and be done with it. Your paint has faded some over the years and you are not going to get a good match. Also do you have all the tools needed to spray? If the car was being repaired at a shop the painted mirror would be blended into your orignal paint. That means they would end up painting a large section of the door to "blend" in the color, they would then re-clear an even larger section of the door.
You can use the VIN for your vehicle in a VIN decoder to find the specific paint color. Like Gorn said, it probably won't be a perfect match depending on how much your paint has faded. I had something similar happen to me this summer, and just painting the mirror came out pretty close to the original color, but my paint wasn't perfect to begin with so it wasn't a big deal to me if the mirror wasn't a perfect match.
Look on the sticker in your door jamb for the color code-BC/CC is what it is marked as on my 02. Remember this all assumes that your car is still the factory color.
