93-96 tail lights
I'm from France, so please excuse me for my poor english.
I've some questions about 4th-gen Camaro tail lights.
I prefer the 93-96 tail lights than the 97-02 ones (although the first ones are not legal here cause the blinker must be amber and not red).
Is it possible to install the 93-96 tail lights on a 99 Camaro?
Is it a direct replacement or does it need a re-wiring job?
Thank you,
Francois

I had a 96 and updated it to the 97-up tail lights. I used the same sockets, but the notches in the light housings needed to be trimmed to accommodate the existing sockets (they are patterned slightly differently). So given that, I see no reason why the opposite wouldn't hold true.

the light pattern if you look at the right side lens is reverse, driving, driving/turn/brake, driving. only the center bulb does anything different. you can rewire them to all work, but they wont work properly. if you want the whole lens to work, you need to do what I did. You need 4 more of those center bulbs with the 2 filaments and the accessory wire. If it doesnt have the 3rd wire, it wont work. You replace the inside bulb with that one. The outside bulb is smaller though, so you will need to dremel out the hole a bit to fit the new bulb in. dont just put in a bigger hole though. make it big enough to put the new bulb in, then take a smaller tip and put notches in so the bulb still secures normally.
