Default 1998 z28, new tires

Hi there. I am going to need new shoes on my Camaro within the next 6 months or so. I really want some Good-years but the only tire i can find in the 245/50/16 size is an F1, for alot of money. Goodyear doesnt have the Eagle gt or anything? I know the older camaros came stock with goodyear eagles. hmmm...

I remember the sixers coming with the Goodyear 235/55/16 tires, and I don't see anything in that size from Goodyear on tirerack.

If it were me, I wouldn't even give a second thought to running some other tire. Then again I'm running the cheapest Z+ rated tire I could find, the Kumho ASX.

i thought the 98 came with 17s,,, anyways a while ago i tried getting some gy eagles in 245 45 17 and they were backordered for the unforeseeable future. have you looked on the tire rack to see what they have

The v6 has the 55 series tire option. the z28 has the 245/50-16 and the SS had the 275/40-17 tires i think. tire rack only has the gy eagle F1 in the z28 size...its like $200 per tire, and they are dry pavement only. ugh. How do you like the Kumhos? i was thinking about the ASX, which are $95 each

the kumhos are great, i had some ecsta ast's on my 3.4 (245/45ZR18 138$ each) i dont think they make that specific tire in a 16 tho. they were the absolute best tire ive ever driven on. one time i hit a puddle (more like a small pond in the rd) at 65mph, as soon as i hit it i let off the gas and pushed in the clutch. it was so much water it came over to hood and completely covered the windshield (i couldnt see a thing) i went from 65 to about 15mph in like 30 ft, never hydroplaned. (i never once hydroplaned with those tires on my car) and they have a killer tread pattern

edit: ya they make them in a 16

I like my kumhos (especially at the price I paid), but my only basis for comparison is a set of mismatched bald off-brand tires that were on the car when I bought it.

Talked the guy at discount tire down to $250 out the door for two, I felt like a thief. I need to get the other two still...

I just got a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's from Discount Tire for $110 each. Putting 245/45-17 on the front and 255/40-17 on the back.
