im looking to put a set of 3.73s in my car but im having a hard time finding them, the only place i found some was fullthrottle the ranged from 180-260 for a set, anyware else i could find them?

will gears from a z28 ect fit? or does the v6 have a differant rear end? i noticed there were gears sold for a series 1 carrier and series 2...... how do i know what series i have?

 

I have a series 2 and it says "3800 Series II right on top of the engine. If this is what you were asking....?

 

well i found on summit they have gear sets for 125, one set is for "3.08 or lower carrier" and the other is for a "3.42 or higher carrier" since my car is a 3.4 and an auto i am assuming i need the set for 3.08 carrier.....right?

 

the lower the number, the less -torque-y feeling, the higher the number, the more your car will snap, but dont go abover 3.73, cuz then you could easily snap your drive shaft or axle

 

lowe number will be better for top speed

 

yes i already know about gearing.... i already planned to get 3.73s. what im trying to ask is on summit racing there are two 3.73 gear sets. one is for cars that came from the FACTORY with 3.08s or lower(which im assuming i have) and the other set is for cars that came from the factory with 3.42 or higher. im assuming i need the set for the 3.08 car.
