Those twolinks have a lot of helpful information. Most people start with the easiest... Air intake, exhaust, gears, and such.

weird. my mom alwyas had a taurus that i would drive a while ago. and, my first caris my camaro which also has a whole lot of miles. but to your question, after replacing a lot of standard parts on mine(203,000 miles, hence the over haul i had done), i got a cold air intake off ebay for about 30 something bucks, plus tax. currently, im in the market off getting a new muffler and a manual cooling fan relay. minus my cracked tailight, my car runs like a champ.

LIEK ZOMG SUPERCHARGE IT!!!!!!!! No, not really. I cant help you cause I dont know V6's too well but please dont put a loud exhaust on it cause loud Camaro V6's are annoying....

That made me think of something... Acura NSX's have V6's and they still sound good.

accully the 3.8s can sound quite mean if they are set up properly. Infact, right now mine is sitting in the driveway with an open cat. (long story) and the sound is great. I wouldnt say its V8 quality, but still sounds nice.

Sound doesnt have as much to do with the number of cylinders as it does the size of the engine & the reination. It can all be change to make it sound how you want.
