ok. i want more hp out of my 3.8 and im going to get a cai, headers, and exhaust, but other than that, i dont really know what else i could do. im sure i could turbo or supercharge itbut for that kinda money, i would just get a z28. any tips would be greatly appreciated....

my next recomendation would be drive train mods see with a full exaughst youve added a good chunk of horse power. which is great execpt the inefficant drive train is sapping alot of it away.

so look into

a one peice aluminium drive shaft from a LS1

a posi trac diffeatnal or failing that a full rear end from a V8

after that your gonna have quite a bit more power than you did stock so its kinda up to you where to go from there... you can

go with a power adder like SC turbo or nitrous

or if youd like to stay N/a you can look into a cam or some head work

He means you can supercharge it or turbo it.

 

im not looking to spend that much money tho. i was hoping to get my car to around 300 hp and i would be happy with that. i was thinking maybe a new cam after the intake, headers and exhaust

 

300 on the crank........... MAYBE


but not with just I H E and a cam.
and for the cam to be worth a **** you would have to get all the mods to support a cam; pushrods, rockers, ect.

same this i was looking into last year... best bang for the buck was to well.......... get a z28 . and i dont want to hear all the well the 3.8 has potential speach. trust me my lt1 puts my 3.8 to shame. not even worth bothering to sup up a 6 until you drive a v8, and realize its a waist...

 

yeah trust me, if i had the money to get a z28, i would but right now im 18, incollege, and on a limited budget. if it wasnt for insurance, i would have gotten a z. insurance for an 18 yo guy in a z was rediculous. but yeah sorry about postin this. next time ill use the search, but i wasnt paying attention. anyway, what about these cold air intakes on ebay? the only one that i can find that looks worth gettin is the slp one but i was hoping to spend less than 300. has anyone tried these and if so are they worth getting?
