Default Valve covers

I am trying to replace my valve cover gaskets. One of the bolts on the passenger side valve cover is basically underneath the engine lifting eye. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting to this bolt? I can get to the bolt and nut to take the lifting eye off, but I can't get enough leverage to brake one of them free. I really don't want to tear the whole engine out for this. I was just using an end wrench. Is there a better way?

I think you can loosen the bracket from under the car with a 36” extension and a swivel socket. The same way you would get to the tranny bolts. I have heard of guys just bending the bracket backwards.

What Gorn said but you will need to drop the tranny X member to get the right angle on the bolts then it is easy. One of the bolts is also a stud, that holds the tranny dip stick tube in place. I didnt want to put this bracket back on my engine when I put it in place but then the tranny tube didnt want to sit right and I didne have time to cut or fab a spacer so I just sucked it up and put it back on. I hope I dont need valve cover gaskets

Ha! another advantage to owning a stick. The tranny is skinny . I didnt have to drop the tranny on mine.

That is a pain to get off. I finally gave up and lowered the tranny to get to it. We did not put that lift bracket back on either.

Case couldn't get to mine either. The gasket was finally replaced with the rebuild and none of the unnecessary brackets were put back on. Weight reduction!

I removed the one bolt and managed to twist the bracket enough to get to the valve cover bolt... was a pain in the *** though
