v6 or v8

v6 or v8
Maybe I should post this in the v8 forum as well....
I want to buy an auto-trans2000-2002 v6 or v8 and need opinions - here's what I'm looking for:
1. High 15 second quarter mile is fast enough for me
2. 24-25 mpg in mixed driving
3. COMFORTABLE ride (I'm worried the v8 is too bumpy)
4. Reliability and longevity
5. Maintenance and repair costs.
So, is the v8 really stiff? I'm an old fart and I don't want my interior to get shaken apart from a bumpy suspension.
Can I get 24 mpg with the v8? I am a moderate lead-footer.
What about repair $$$$ ?
Thanks!

RE: v6 or v8
I have a 3.4L 95 and it is generally easy to work on and has been very reliable overall, as long as you keep up w/maintenance - dunno about the 3.8L...
My other is an 01 SS, and V8's are always more complex for everything -- but it is nice -- suspension can be adjusted/changed out for your liking...
Synthetic oil, a good oil filter (not most Frams) & Dexron 6 will sure help with longevity...

like Libertyforall too have a 3.4l v-6 and even with 151k on it she runs like a champ. As long as you keep on track of regular maintence i dont think youll have a problem with the car whether it be a v-8 or a v-6. Camaro's are great cars.
