Thumbs up V6 Owners, Upgrade your Sways!

Had to report-in after finally getting my SS sways (32mm front 19mm rear) onto my RS -- makes a world of difference in handling -- would never go back. If any of you like to drive anything other than just a straight-line, you really need to consider upgrading your sways, and with them poly bushings. Stock was 28mm front, 15mm rear.

All four of my front swaybar bracket bolts broke off at the head in the process, so I replaced the brackets that the sway brackets attach to...

Didn't the SLP RS Cars have the larger sways or was that an extra RS option? Sways are on my list but I have other suspension issues that need to be addressed before new sways.

I have 35mm on the front and 22mm on the rear from UMI, much better handling. Best upgrade by far.

Massey: SS sways were an option on the RS, not standard. What are your other suspension issues.

Socom: Only thing is UMI's sways are solid, adding a lot more weight than hollow. Still feels good I'm sure. Me, I'm reserving the Strano 35/22 sways for the SS, soon to get installed along with the front Konis (rears are a breeze, fronts another story). ;-)

I need a new rack and tierods, my panhard par allows the rear to wiggle a little too much and the left lower control arm was damaged when I got hit. It didnt effect the alignment but I can feel how the damaged bushing makes the car handle different from left to right turns. My sway bars are still in good shape and will be replaced but not the first thing I replace. I am looking into some Umi Rear suspension parts first then the front then sways all around.

Socom: LOL

Massey: What's wrong with your rack? LOL
How is it that you notice this "wiggle"? Maybe the panhard is bent from your accident?

What front suspension parts are you considering?

Massey, does your RS have the close ratio rack or was that just a Y-87 thing?

My Car is not a true RS but I am making it my own flavor of RS, so right now my rack is the normal rack. I plan on using a Z28 rack since the price is the same and the rate is faster.

My inner tie rod was damaged in the accident and there is a little leakage around the boot. My lower control arm, the rear bushing was crushed when the car was hit and the control arm was dented by the bolt that holds it to the body. I measured the body everything is good there. The bushing is starting to break down allowing the arm to wiggle a little.

The panhard bar is fine but the bushings are dry and cracking and when you rock the car side to side you get excessive motion and if you are under the car you can see it all move. This is not from the accident this is from age.
