V6 "Oil change" indicator?
I used to buy a 2002 V6 Camaro, I´m very happy with that car But last week the Oil Change indicator starts to light sometimes. But oil was replaced before 4000Miles! I should run another 4000 without oil replacement, shouldn´t I? But that oil was changed 4K M ago, but it is more than 7 months ago (it car is runned only once a time), is possible that camaro check oil and if it is resuleted as not good it starts to light? Thanks for any answer, and sorry for my english I´m from europe..

MY GOD! I've never heard anyone keep the same oil for over 4000miles, and i personally have mine change every 2,500. But of course i have a 94 camaro so it is a little older and has some oil leakage that newer ones wouldnt.

If you change the oil every 8000 miles you are asking to buy a new engine in a short time. For general usage change the oil and filter every 3000 miles. Long change time are for ideal driving conditions, no dust, clear level roads, no stop & go driving, mild weather, etc..

My "Oil Change" light comes on after I get my oil changed. Is there something I need to do so this light doesnt appear EVERYTIME I start my car? I changed my oil last month, and when I turn my car on it comes up, and then will go off after about a minute

did you do the GM oil life reset? the process is described in the manual, but basically you put the key to the on position, step on the gas 3 times within 5 seconds. then start the car. the light should go off when you start it again

Not that i'm an idiot, but where is this "oil change" light? I know there is a low oil light, but otherwise how would the car know how far you have gone on your current oil and wether or not it needs replacing? It's probably best just to do a visual check every 1000 miles, thats what i do. And i dont about your guys' cars but mine burns about one quart every 3000 so its good to check it often. Again, though, where is the "oil change" light?

Dude hold the milage reset button on your dash for 5 seconds before you turn your car on with the key in the on position!... it will turn it off, do this every time you change your oil....
