you will need to change EVERYTHING...the transmission, exhaust , none of the accesories will work , the engine mounts will have to fabricated.....pretty much same parts to put a V8 in it. the 3.4 is60 degree V6 the 4.3 is a 90 degree like a SBC.

the 4.3 wasn't only a truck engine, it also came in some of the G-body Monte's and Caprices.the engine mounts used on the 4.3 in the monte would probably work in a F-body because the frame mounts are in the same location, but still be the same amount of work to put a4.3 in it as it would be a V8

yea personally id say go to a V8 even if your concerned with the gas mileage cuz with that big of a V6 and that much weight there really wont be that much of a difference between the two plus with V8 you'll have more power
