Unlocking car from under hood
I was wondering if there is a way to unlock the doors from under the hood. I can delatch the hood from behind the bumper easy, and I remember I accidentally tripped my door locks in my cavalier. I dont know how I did it since I was working on something else and didnt care much. So I was wondering if someone knew how to do it on a 94 3.4l v6 camaro. And/Or on a 96 3.8l v6 (3800) camaro, as I might be trading for that one. This takes the fear out of locking the keys in the car even though Ive only done that twice in 6 years. But I like knowing little tricks for a just in case I pull a duhhh moment.

A spare wouldnt have done me good when I was 2 hours away from home and when you only have money for gas, not for a locksmith, you need to figure something out. Luckily i got in via a metal rod from a voting sign and prying the window open with a thick wood chip. I know I accidentally did it on the cavy, but Im not sure how. I know the locks run through the bcm. and i know the bcm has to be connected to the battery somehow as well as the switch for it to turn on and off. So basically, there should be a way to, in a sense, hotwire the bcm. that would make it think the key is in the ignition... wait a minute. Nevermind, there isnt a way to do it. It worked on the cavy because it automatically locked when you drove off and automatically unlocked in park. There for if I hit the switch on that, thats why it automatically unlocked. The camaro doesnt have the automatic locks. It has automatic locks but not with out a button. It isnt activated by the shifter and speed of the car. Well, I just answered my own question. lol

If you're that paranoid, get an extra door key and tape it to the bottom of the fuse box cover. I've locked myself out a couple times, and after watching a locksmith open it in 3 minutes, I'll never pay to get it opened again.

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA!!! Not too many people at all know how to open a cars hood without getting inside it let alone even thinking a spare key would be in the top of the fuze box cover! Thats an amazing idea, thanks so much!!
