Turbo question for V6

Turbo question for V6
got a 99 V6 maro, I'm thinking of putting an STS remote turbo set up on it, i read that it keeps the engine bay cooler(being that its in the rear) and the turbo runs cooler for better and more effiecient boost. however i'm worried that i'll ruin the motor, is the v6 a high compression motor? I'm only gonna run 4-5 psi boost nothing to dramatic it should give me a good 50-60 HP increase, any suggestions?

RE: Turbo question for V6
rear mounted turbos are not somthing i would recomend they genneral just dont build enough pressure to spin the turbo efficantly and ill put it to you this way if rear mounted is so much better like they claim why is ever car manfactuer in the world that has a stock turbo car makeing room for em under the hood?

RE: Turbo question for V6
whe we say rear mount, we mean like, mounted after the cat instead of before it? in essence, it's a good idea, but like Nic pointed out, not near enough pressure, and manufacturers would be doing it.

RE: Turbo question for V6
I figure because its a universal fit, also for cars like ours, camaro /corvettes, theres hardly any room to put a kit under the hood.its possible but relocation of the battery and other things must be done.... even the V6 maro is tight.... your right hardly any back pressure to spool the turbo efffiecently (forthe v6car) V8 ss/z28s would have no problems with that. they put out alot of back pressure.

RE: Turbo question for V6
In order for the turbine to work more efficiently... It needs high pressure (a little restrictive) exhaustfrom engine to turbo, and little restriction from the turbo back. If your reasoning for a six cylinder not putting out much pressure to spool a turbo, then Supras wouldn't be worth poo. As the turbo starts to spool up, it forces that much more air into the engine, which in turn creates higher pressure exhaust to spool it up some more.
