Ehhhhh...take that money you would have spent having a shop fix your car, and invest in some ramps, jack stands, a jack, some basic starter tools, and a good repair manual. You'll be money ahead the next time something on your car needs to be fixed. Nobody here was born with a wrench in their hand, and you can always ask questions here if you get stuck. A car can be a real money pit if you have to keep paying someone else to do even the most basic of repairs.

Totally agree -- and/or look into an extended warranty, but even those don't typically cover everything.
