trans flush

RE: trans flush
They just push it to pay for thier expensive machines and thats right that they do not change the filter. It is to speed up thier process as well. If your fliud is really dark and burnt smelling then your screwed anyway. Once the fluid is changed it will start to slip afterwards.

RE: trans flush
That isn't exactly true ^. I do this for a living, and as far as I can say, I don't personally push for services one does not need. How much are they charging you? If your transmission is in good condition, it will be benificial to change it out. It'll give you better gas milage, smoother shifts, and it'll prolong the life of your transmission. How many miles do you have on you Camaro?

RE: trans flush
I completely agree with shnormo. A trans flush can be very beneficial ...provided the transmission is in good working condition prior to the service. Do not attempt if the trans fluid is very dark/ bad odor/slipping. As far as not changing the filter goes, the only 100% way to go is have both done. It will cost more but is the best for the transmission. I have seen first hand the service go very well and not so well. 99% of the time they go well.
