Default tranny question

Hello all, I've had my camaro for just about a month now and have a question about my tranny. It's a 3.4L v6 automatic, and when I shift into drive sometimes it takes about 1/2 a second to fully engage into gear. It's most noticable from reverse to drive. The tranny fluid was changed just before I bought the car so I know it's not the case. I was wondering if this is normal or am I looking a something that can become a more serious problem. Thanks.

Thanks, I was just wondering because in most of the vehicles I've had it seems to go into gear a little quicker, I guess having 165k on the motor and tranny will make things work a little slower too. My camaro is the highest mileage vehicle I've owned with an automatic in it so I was just wondering if it was a concern because my dodge takes right off from any other gear into park, and my camaro I have to wait about a second for it to actually engage. I'm hoping to get a Z28 with a manual and t-tops with my tax return this spring so it won't matter for more than 6 months anyway. Besides the camaro will probably be parked most winter anyway.
