Does anyone know how fast the 99 3.8l manual transmission camaro can go? Thanks

 

Speed limited by Factory to 110 MPH, if you can get it up to that. The speed limiting is due to the Non-speed rated tires in most stock cases was H-rated.

 

I've got a 99 4spd automatic, and I know I've seen my speedo at 115. Unless theres a difference between a manual and automatic in that department, or I don't have a limiter on my car.

 

My automatic 2000 camaro 3.8 has hit the 125mph , i actually only hit 122mph and slowed down because of a distant corner but my gf actually hit the 125 on a straightaway and said it felt like it was still climbing !

I kinda fail to see the point of hitting such speeds though, I haven't tried to hit that mark since that one time, probly cuz it's 55mph all throughout Upper Michigan lol!

 

Back in the day i had my 2.8 above 115, mind you that took about 2 miles of strait road. I have also had my old 3.8 A4 Y87 car well into the 115-120 range the only mods where a wisper lid with K&N filter and a cat back exhaust. I fill like the car still had a little more to go

 

99 A4 here... Our cars are governed at 120 unless you have it removed. I can hit 125 at about 3 grand. I can bury the speedo before I hit 4. But I've got quite a few mods. Even a stock car would push the 125 range though. I'd guess around 130.

 

I have a 95 3.4L A4 with a homemade CAI, and I topped out at 136, measured with a gps accurate to 6 feet.

 

Yea mine is limited to 120..it makes it there with no problem though..how does one go about removing the limiter?

 

I don't buy that you hit 136 in a 3.4... Basically stock at that.

But you have to get it tuned out of your PCM Jonny.

 

Ahh..thats what i figured..will they do that if you get it tuned through pcmforless?
