Contrary to popular belief, 104 miles per hour is not where you get the best gas mileage (clever cover story though). My governor is set at 256 mph. Does that mean my car is not performing it's best, since it won't reach the governor?

Contrary to popular belief, 104 miles per hour is not where you get the best gas mileage (clever cover story though). Also, top speed runs are not the best way to treat your 'new' used car, especially if you don't know if the oil has been changed or not. My governor is set at 256 mph. Does that mean my car is not performing it's best, since it won't reach the governor?
