Default Thoughts on this possible buy

Hey, i was wondering if anyone would like to give some opinions on this car here this one My dad is going to go check it out tomorow, and i was wondering what you guys think. I ran a carfax, and the vehicle has had 2 owners, one for about a year and a half, purchased new in 1998, and another on who bought it in 2000, and has owned it until just recently. The car was in one wreck in 04, which said caused moderate damage to the front end. However the car was still driven for the next three years. There were a lot of service records or oil changes, and just regular service done by both owners. For the 5000 dollars asked, do you guys think it's worth it? By the time someone responds my dad will probably have already made a decision, but i just wanna see what you guys think.

My dad is on his way home from checking it out. He decided not to put any money down until we talk it over some more. He said the paint has a purplish hue to it, is that normal? i know that the dark bllue was a standard color, but is there any purple in it? The big thing though was that he felt the transmition have a little trouble on time during his test drive, which is something im all too familiar with in my current car. There's also a long scratch on one side, but that can be taken out. As far as details on the wreck, the dealer doesn't know anything, and it happened 3 years go, so the only thing i have to go on is carfax's " front end wreck, moderate damage". I'll have a longer discusison when my dad comes home, but thats what i know for now.
Just to let you know, my other option at this point is a black 99 for 3800(we can probably get it for 3500) But it needs a few things fixed on it, and im wondering if the price diference is worth what we would have to pay to get it in better condition. Ok, my biggest problem with this one is that the paint is peeling at the nose, it is the original paint. The next thing, is that the heat shield, part of the exaust system, is ratling. Theres a few dents, inclusing one major one in on the passenger side, right behind the door. The leather interior is really worn as well.
So what i'd like to ask is, about how much would all this cost to repair on a 99 v6?
A good detailing
Nose repainted
One major dent, several smaller dents, removed
Interior touched up? it's in need of detailing, but can the seats be somewhat repaired or recovered?
White racing stripes, painted on
New stereo with digital in so i can plug my iPod up to the stereo

If we get the black one for 3500 i'd have an extra 1500 dollars to fix all those problems, so could i get it done? and can anyone estimate how much all that would be? And more comments on the blue on would be nice, thanks.

yeah, but my dad is a hater of manual transmitions, and i can't say i'd be too thirlled myself. The problem is it's almost impossible to find one from a private seller, which is where we could get a good deal from, and hopefully one in better condition. Like the black one we looked at yesterday in charlotte was 3800, and it was in terrible condition, cosmetically. But like i said, i cna't do manual, and green/teal isn't my color of choice, even though it's cheap enough where i could paint it easy. I'll talk it over with my dad maybe i can get a 5 speed.
