so my camaro is smelling like gas so im assuming it has a gas leak. Now what i was wondering was if there are anything the often goes wrong on these cars causing this.

 

No common issue, infact I would say its rare. It should set a check engine lite. High pressure fuel that is leaking is very dangerous you shold track this down.

 

I've seen a very old and rusted fuel filter leak before, but you would hear it. check your evap system, charcoal canister... Hopefully your just smelling vapor.

Where is the smell coming from? These cars are known to start leaking at the top of the tank. You could also have a fuel line leak.

 

thats the thing you can smell the gas anywhere around the car but i forgot to mention you can only smell it if its running if that helps any

 

Sounds like either a leaky injector or bad fuel line in the engine. Pop the hood when it's running and sniff around!

 

i would say if your smelling only when its running you may be running way rich. check the exhaust for gas smell. if not that check your fuel pressure regulator and your evap system and gas cap. should not be the fuel line as its under pressure all the time. at least its supposed to be, so check the fuel pressure as well. there is a sticky at the top in the lt1 section for evap.
