thermostat?

what does a 160* thermostat do?
like how does it help?

it opens sooner, letting coolant flow faster.It usually will help lower your running temps.

no it has no effect on performance besides letting your car run cooler, it will not add any horsepower.

Adds squat, except fouled plugs and no heat. But if your tuned for it, then it helps. The 3.8's love to run at about 190ish degrees.

yes it does help, as musicman said if you get it tuned with the computer so the fans come on at the same time.It has no effect on fouled plugs.But he is right a car runs best between 190-210 degrees, but even if the thermostat opens at 160 and the fans come on at the same time your car still wont be exactly at 160, its still going to be around 180-200.

yes so it lowers your chances of overheating, if youre looking for more power, look at exhaust,gears,intake,etc

Here's what you do. Don't get it unless you have hp tuners, or a custom pcm tune from pcm for less. Problem solved. Otherwise you going to run rich, and that = not good.
