Is there a Hypertech programmer for a 99 3.8l ?
#4
No, They do not. You would be better off with a mail order tune and you would save money. Mail order cost around $100 + or-, Hypertech can cost between $220-400.
You could even buy your own HPtuners and tune your self. Give me a shout if you are interested in a mail order tho

Ah, thank you everyone for replying.
I wrote to Hypertech, but either the guys are busy or don't wanna deal with a V6 guy from Germany.
I don't expect huge gains or V8-performance. Just some optimization for premium gas (91 to 94 octane AKI), governor delete (its set at 125 mph) and crisper shifts.
Are there any other possibilities? I read: "mailorder". What the heck is that?

I have a lot of help to give you man hahaha. Ill start with What I would recommend for you.
A mail order tune. Usually around $75-150, depending on mods. if you put headers or a cold air intake on your car, You can get more out of these mods than with a Hypertech. Hypertech is gonna be the same no matter what v6 car and no matter what mods.
When you get a mail order you will have to list your mods and your desires.
You can delete 02 (for gutted cats), change max speed to no limit and correct your speedo for your gears or tires, smog delete, change fan on/off temps, change for injectors, This is all stuff that will be changed for your engine
Your trans, im sure you have an auto; line pressure is changed for firmer shifts, and torque management is removed. You have a lot more options when you get a personal tune. most mail orders are cheap because the tuner can do it easily and in no time.
If you have more money a all bolt ons I would say get a street tune. Its in between mail order and a dyno tune. The tuner will hook up to your car and see whats going on while you drive in all conditions. Then change what is needed and desired.
I may be leaving some things out but I have a few projects going on right now. If you would like more info on tunes I can help. If you would like a mail order tune I can hook you up.
If you would like, Do some research on hptuners and check out ls1tech
