I really don't think an STS kit is going "all out". I believe they only put out maybe 6-8 psi. Your stock bottom end can handle that (assuming it is tuned right).

Why don't you first call STS, and report back here. ;-)

LOL, what is that about 650 HP? There no off the shelf 3800 parts that will handle that. Can one turbo even maintain 16psi ? Pump Gas? What compression 6:1

ok ok ok maybe not 16psi...wife was on here and i was trying to hurry. probably the most boost ill run is 8psi. but on the stocker, deff 4psi. now i have a question...on the 3800 block. theres a plug on the front of the block. it takes a TORX head. it appears to do nothing. could this plug be removed and used as oil return...or do i have to go through the oil fill cap. i know i have to run a scavenge pump... and what should i use for lines?

I never said it could not be done. I said it could not be done with off the self parts. Engine builders can do this stuff. They do it to show what they can do. Most have access to machine shops and only pay for the raw stock. Example If you want a billet crank turned out of 414O PH it will take a pounding and can be up to 3 time strong then a 1020 steel crank. The material for that crank would be $500-700 but you could easy tie 40 hours of machining in it. Most machine shops that can make a billet crank are around 75-100 per hour. So for the guys that need to pay for that labor thats a 4-5K crank. Thats just the crank.

The stock crank can handle what you can throw at it (runs mid-high 8's)

The stock bottom end is STRONG but tuning mistake will grenade it KR being worse then anything

stock bottom ends can easily take 15psi if the tune is dialed in, (hp tuners is the tuner you need or full stand alone)

A personal feind of mine hand his car on 18 psi for while and the head gaskets gave out

I know another car fully stock motor (valve cover never removed) running high 11's

the L67/32 motor is the same motor with lower CR (8.5:1 vise the L36 9.4:1) and they can be put into the 9's on stock bottome end, with p/p head and turbo cam, and other supporting mod needed/required for a car that fast, and they are FWD mind you.

the L32/67 and L36 are inter change able in fact i have an 2000 L67 block in my 1997 Camaro you only need to change the heads and intake and the headers out.

I would not get and STS kit for the V6 they are to slow to spool ZZP is coming out with a kit and Force fed fabs will build kit for you if you ask.

there are some minor thing i left out if you have question just ask

FYI my car sees 24PSI from my rather larger turbo.................. Master power T70

edit 2:

off the shelf parts you have diamond piston and JE pistons id get the JE pistons, they correct a few issue of the Diamond

there is also a 4.2 stoker but its $3500 LOL

whatever cam you want from comp cams

after market rockers
