Got my RS back today and WOW. My steering wheel is ROCK SOLID now, and the adjuster is rigid -- SO happy!

They replaced the bowl mechanism and tightened some screws. Night and day difference.

Ext. Warranty paid $471.50 labor and $350.82 in parts. WOW.

Default 2000 Camaro Tilt wheel problem

I had not heard of this problem before I paid a local shop $500 to replace the turn signal cam and tighten the loose column. It was when I picked up the car they said they put lock tite on all the necessary bolts and torqued all down tite. But it was still loose ,they said Oh you just need a new column. I was pissed they did not call me to ask if I wanted to toss $500 at it at not fix it. But the bottom line is when you got this problem you need to replace the whole column.I am not rich but know how to do stuff like this so I will find a column and put it in myself.

If your bolts are tight there is still play then the hinge pin bores are worn.
Unbalanced Engineering makes oversized pins. They fixed my play in my 93. I still have other issues but those where cause by a wreck.
Check out the 93 build thread in my signature skip to the end.
Also note you can’t blame the mechanic for not knowing about this. This is not a factory repair and their existence are not common knowledge. If you are paying for labor then in may be cheaper to go to a junk yard and just get one that is not loose.

My son's 2000 pulls down and to the left also. Has there been a defined repair done yet?
