Default starting problem

I have posted on this problem before and was sent to another post on the site. I have a 96 camaro v6, It will not start on the first try. I have to turn the key to run, then off and back to run to start. I have a SES light witch gave me a P1441 code, I am replacing the canister purge solenoid, that was the first on the list from the code list. Has any one had this problem and have been able to fix it, also will the code light go away once the problem is solved. Thanks SFC

The EVAP problem should not cause starting problems. The fact that you need to try several time to get started is an indication that the FI system lost pressure while the engine was off. IT could be a bad check valve in the fuel pump, a bad pressure regulator, a leaky injector, or an actual fuel leak. Do a fuel pressure test to get a better view.

P1441 Evaporative Emmision (EVAP) System flow during non purge

Fuel pressure is not part of the code... Pete was saying that it sounds like the fuel pressure (or lack thereof) has to do with your startup problem.
