The SES blinking means that is is misfiring. As dc14 said, get the codes scanned. How long has it been since you changed the plugs and wires? That is one of the most common causes of it missing. Also, might want to check the plug wires to make sure that they are not touching exhaust manifold and have a burned insulation allowing them to arc on the engine.

ive had the car for about 2years and have never messed around with the plugs or wires! Im pretty sure it still has the original ones! and another thing, after i drive and get where im going, i get off and it smells like somethings burning!

burning smell might be a plug wire touching.could be as simple as that causing the missfire.that's a free visual check.matter o fact look at it while it is dark outside and visually follow each wire.look for fireworks

Glad to hear it worked out! On my wife's Grand AM GT we did the same thing and finally came to realize it was a plugged cat. Car ran like crap and the SES was blinking too.
