Default Spark Plugs

I am really needing to change my spark plugs out in my 95 3.4L but everyone is telling me different things on how to change them. I've called around and they want $375 to change the plugs and wires and i cant do that right now. Some people have mentioned taking the wheel off and going in that way to get to the 3 that are impossible to get to from the top.

I did a 96 camaro i waas able to get the front them mostly from the top. I raised the car enough and put truck jack stand under it and got the rest from under the car. Taking the wheel might be a little easeir. Take out that plastic wheel well shield too. THat's how I did the tune up on my Explorer. Iridium plugs at $11/ea = $66 and ac delco wires cost $50 lol so that is a **** load of labor costs. If it's just a daily drive, just go with double platnums. Don't go with Bosch.

You want to fix cars, you have to get dirty. If you can't do the plugs from the top, you will have to try from the bottom, if something is in the way, like a wheel, you will have to remove it.
Whathever you do, use the best material you can afford, so you won't have to do it again.
As for plugs, if you are going to use platinum or irridium tipped plugs, make sure that both tip and ground electrode are of the same material. Your car uses DIS ignition and 3 of the plugs fire center to ground (normal way), and the other 3 fire ground to center (backwards), so if you use standard platinum plugs, 1/2 of them will last for 100K, while the other half won't make 30K.

For a 3.8L and LS1, both being 90 degree vee-engines with cylinder heads pointing at the shock towers, this may be true.

The 3.4L is easier.

I think the people who quoted you really forgot a 3.4L existed. Tell them to try again.

I did mine last week. All from the top. Changing the plugs themselves was a breeze. It was getting the old wires off and boots that was a problem. Get new wires before you strart plug change and anti seeze plugs and die elect grease boots. Make sure the engine is dead cold before you start. Takes about a 6 pack to get job done. 1995 3.4L Manual 5 speed. NO Mods.

Good god please don't spend that on plugs and wires. Personally, I don't know what the 3.4 looks like because I have a 3.8, but it's very simple. You pull em out (not by the wire, obviously, grab the metal). Shove a socket in there and take the plugs out, wrench the new ones back in and that's a done deal for the plugs. As for the wires, those are very simple. Follow the ends to the distributor cap and then back to the plugs, yank and snap. I feel like someone hit me in the ***** with a hammer every time I hear someone paying hundreds for simple labor like that.
