solid Transmission mount
hey everyone, been a while since i been on here, but i got a question.
i have a 1996 camaro rs. yea, its a 6, and yes, i know it aint fast. but its mine, and i drive the **** out of it.
but i have a problem.
i like to drive my camaro, and i drive it hard, the problem is i keep going throught the damn hydraulic trans mounts. At a cost of $50 to $75, and alrady goin through 3 of them this summer, it aint cheap.
i was hoping that maybe someone found a solid mount for the five speed, and if you had, about how much was it, and was it worth it.
id appreciate any feedback,
thanks for your time

Try checking

I do not think there is a difference between auto and manual trans mounts. And I would go with the poly, not the solid mounts. Less vibration and noise.

You really don't want a solid metal to metal mount as it will vibrate the theet out of your head, and shake all of the car's screws loose. I know for a fact that either Auto Zone or Pep Boys carry solid rubber mounts for "W" cars, which also blow up hydraulic mounts, you may want to check to see if they have the same for Camaro.

wow, thanks for the feedback. unfortunaley autozone dosent carry one,. but the link to summit was a huge help, ill be sure to et you know what happens.
ans i learned my lesson, next time, i wont make the mistake of sayin "solid mount " instead of poly mounts.
i am grateful for the advice,
thank you all very much

RE: solid Transmission mount
oh my god, I LOVE solid mounts.
for anyone interested in gettin the rubber mount for the five speed, whole-heartedly, YES. get the thing. i garuntee you will love it
one word of caution though, the mounting holes for the mount itself are about 1/4 inch too short. it may require some fabrication to make it wiork. and you'll notice a slight increase in body vibrations, but it is SO worth it!
it can be done with a drill, and it is well worth the work
so to anyone interested, DO IT, youll love it!
