So... my car is Y87 with F41?
I just heard of this package today, and went out to my car, it looks like a bonified Y87. But is this a big deal? Does it add value? How many of these were made? Just wanted to run this past you guys, it appears this is highly desirable among V6 Camaro owners.

It has the G80 RPO Code for Auburn LSD, Even the Y87 RPO is on there.
EDIT: Also has GU6 which is 3.42 gears.

That is a great V6 setup, Add value? yea a few hundred assuming the car is in nice shape and does not have a ton of miles on it.
History has shown us that rare optioned 6 cylinders don't sell for much more then base models. Even today a 1969 inline 6 comes thru with 4 passanger shoulder belts it will get a lot of looks but sell for 4-7K. Now put that option in a RS/SS 396 and that could up the value more than 7K.

So glad I joined this forum, you all have really taught me a lot. Countless nights I've spent reading all the restore threads and peoples upgrades.
One thing I do wonder is if this car has a solid aluminum rear drive shaft... I know it sounds stupid, but I never really looked under the car to check.
Now, I would like to possibly do a write up for others if it has not already been done. Been doing a lot of research and I think it would benefit current or even new users to see what they have. All I had to go off of was old posts and some from LS1 tech and etc.
EDIT: Another thing I do love about this car, is that it IS all original, no one has really mucked with the car. The charcoal/fire red interior is stock and not an add on which I use to think it was. However one thing does still puzzle me... the car came with all the bells and whistles you can think of, but no rear defrost... I think someone forgot to "check" that when ordering it.

Aluminum drive shaft where installed in the highest HP engines setup is car that would most likely hit the track. They are stronger then the steel ones. I can not see GM putting one in a V6 since they where for strength. FYI they are not soild, they are tubes just a thicker tube then the steel.
I am not sure what your rightup would intail, most of us you http://www.camarosource.ca/camaro_info_central/ as a option refference.

You're in Arizona? Your car was originally sold in Arizona? Then it's not a big surprise to me that it didn't have the rear defroster installed.
Even loaded luxury cars sold down south didn't have rear defrosters installed. No need to. That's a big tip off at auto auctions that a car came from the south. Western cars don't usually show up here though -- too far to haul them.

I definitely want to get that V6 drive shaft changed out then. Can't wait to start rebuilding it in the coming months.

But that makes since about the rear defrost option not being there.

I'm not sure if it's a true Arizona car, there was more rust than a usual arizona car would have at this age, so I guess it spent time in either east Texas or California at one point. One thing is for sure, it's not as bad as a Florida vehicle. My truck looks horrible compared to other vehicles out here the same age.
