Default sluggish btwn 1.5k and 2.5k rpm

hey all, ive recently bought a 2000 3.8 auto, but i've got some acceleration issues. this is my first car that isnt older than 30 years, so all of the computers and sensor terminology is new to me. the car gets sluggish around 1500 and 2500 rpms, and starts to surge. i have to floor it completely to drop it into a lower gear, and even then, its slow to pick up speed. hell, my brother's four banger tacoma is faster than the camaro right now. do you think this could just be a clogged fuel filter, or fuel pump, maybe fouled injectors? i dont know anything about the computers on the car, but could one of those have gone bad? thanks for all the help!

Could be a bunch of things, but you should have the car scanned first, to see if there are any codes that may point to the problem.

This kinda shouts of a clogged fuel filter. It's the first thing that popped into my mind before I was half way through readin it. It might not fix the issue but it's the logical place to start. Try that and some injector cleaner.
