Default Simple alternator question

So i just got though installing my brand new duralast alternator. Cranked the car, runs perfect, no problem. Though... i have one bolt i could not get to go in to save my life. The one that mounts to the back of the alternator. I yanked and pulled on the alternator to see if it moves at all and it doesnt'. Any reason i shouldn't just leave the 3rd bolt out??

the only thing that would concern me with leaving that last bolt out is if the alternator were to come loose while you were driving cause then your belt is gonna pop off if not snap...other than that i dont see any harm in leaving it out

I'm sure the bolt was designed to serve a purpose, therefore if it was my car, I would have all the bolts in.

The Alternator position may move over time, causing the belt to loosen...

Ok thanks guys. I'm gonna try loosening all the bolts again and may putting them in all at the same. Maybe then it won't be so off, where the bolt wont fit. Thanks again.
