shift boot

does anyone have a clue where i could find a plate that a shift boot connects to mine broke and advance auto does not carry them?

You're talking about that plastic ring that the boot is attached to?

It sounds like a $tealership item, and you probably can't buy just the ring, you probably have to buy an entire boot.

Or make a template. Use 1/4" lauan. scribe out the dimension of the original pc. If there is no ring left, you can glue pcs to the side so that it has something to sit on. Or you could try gluing your boot to the hole in the console. Or try the junk yard.

Funny story. Today I went to the junkyard with my dad and we got a leather shift boot from a 97 Z28. It has the plastic thing and all. We picked it up for $5. All I could reccomnd doing is checking out some local junkyards.

No. Both my grandpas are dead. If you mean my dad then no. We took the Silverado.

dude, same thing happened to mine recently when i ripped the engine out and threw another one in it. my brother and uncle were helping, and apparently one of them wasn't very careful in taking the boot off and broke the mounting bracket. now i'm stuck with it flopping around, it totally sux. i'm still looking around but there's not a whole lot of junkyards where i live
