Default SES Light

Is there a different meaning if the light is flashing vs. burning steady?

I think the flashing usually means some type of misfire. It will flash, then turn steady. Every once in a while it will flash to remind you it's still there.

Thank you.

After I posted the original question, I took the car and had the codes read at Autozone.

You are right. It said a misfire on cylinder 2.

Next question...

The car was tuned up on Friday 3/14. It had the original wires and plugs in it and they were in such poor condition, I can't believe it would even run. After this tune up was completed, it ran like a different car. Very pleased with the results. But the light is still on. I don't think that I am having a misfire. It is running too good. There may be some tranny issue though. I experience a slight jerk when the tranny is shifting.

Will the light reset own its own or will it have to be reset by someone?
