Default Seafoaming

For my 98 3.8L

Just need a reassuring and confirmation, I got this information on a Mustang forum (a whole 9 pages of posts worth..) as well as several youtube videos...

1/3 of the can in the gas tank, 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 brake booster

Put the sea foam in the gas tank and oil while the car is not on.. and then
holding the throttle down at around 1,500 rpm while putting in the brake booster slowly...

Let sit for 15 minutes.. and then revving the engine to get out the carbon build ups and gunk... then a throttle induced hypnosis for about 10 miles.

Oil change afterwards (between the time you do it and 50-100 miles MAX)

Input? Advice? Feedback?

I did it to mine after I took ownership of it because it had been sitting for a long time. I put 1/3 in the oil, 1/3 in the tank, and 1/3 into the intake. I changed my oil after about 75 miles. Everything worked just fine. I don't know if it was really necessary or not, but it did seem to run smoother afterwards.

Ummmmmm....DO NOT put the Seafoam in the brake booster as stated!
You put it into the vacuum hose that you disconnect from the booster, not into the booster itself unless you want to wreck it.

Yeah, that's what I meant to say.. would letting it suck up from a container say... gladware... or slowly pouring it in with a funnel be safer?

I'd want to meter it a different way to control it. Like with a garden sprayer or something that flows at that kind of rate.

Personally i dont like the idea of using seafoam. my motor is high miles about 200k i dont know about yours but why would i want to clean out the build up that is prolly keeping my motor sealed. i understand using it in a lower miles motor.

My car has around 104k, i'm told you should use Seafoam anywhere near 200k miles as it will do exactly what you said Vandee. Your engine will lock. It shouldn't be harmful at my mileage.

Dont put the tube into the seafoam can, theres not enough air and it will mess crap up. You dont need a funnel either, just slowely pour it into the tube, theres enough suction for it to not spill

Agreed, don't put it in the brake booster! Best thing to do is take out your PCV and put the 1/3 can in there when the car is on. Use Seafoam Deep Creep and spray inside the TB with the car running until you start to see white smoke. Tuen the car off and let it sit for 10mins. Put the intake hose back on and start it up.
For the gas tank it's 1oz of Seafoam for every gallon of gas.
For the crankcase, put 1/3 to 1/2 can of Seafoam in the day before an oil change! Use Seafoam as an engine flush too!
