RS Rant
How hard is it to realize that the RS package was cosmedic only. It has been since day one and I am unaware of any year that the RS package had anything to do with the drive line unless it was some how tied to a special package. In 1967 if you wanted a Big block RS you got an RS/SS if you wanted a I6 RS that is what you got. The only exception I am aware of is the 4th Gen SLP RS but that was not really a GM thing and falls under the special package it was just SLP using RS just like they did SS. Yet I see questions in every generation forum asking What rear did the RS have? what engine did the RS have?
Am I wrong on this?
My other pet peive is almost every 4th gen V6 Camaro on Craigs list says its a RS. But they are not. I see even years that did not have RS's listed as RS. WTH?

I know there was NO RS available in '95, and I believe some other years.
Even the RS had SLP options, just like the SS -- there is some optional SLP RS content that mine does NOT have. I have the original SLP RS Content card.
So there ya go -- not ONLY cosmetic, but mostly, bold ones my car has: Bowtie Grill, Dual Stripes (will have to check manifest, maybe they were removed?), Dual Exhaust/High Perf. Muffler add 5 HP (but I upgraded to Borla), RS Body Graphics, RS Dash Plaque, Optional ZR1 Style 16" x 8" 5 Spoke Wheels (I have chrome 10 spoke), Optional RS Suspension 32/19 mm sways & stiffer sway bushings and revised endlinks (I have 28/15 mm, soon to change to SS 32/19 mm).

I thought the SLP suspension option had it's own RPO? Thus it's just an SLP addition, not actually part of the RS package itself.
The exhaust however is 100% stock GM exhaust and from what I can tell, didn't add jack **** (otherwise all Firebirds would have been listed at 205 HP because they share the same exhaust).

The list says "Camaro RS Content", similar to Camaro SS Content, there is a base of what is included, and there are optional additions.

i know everybody assumes that if its a 6 cyl. its an RS.... i know that the RS came with the SPECIAL Y87 package and i am told that you could only get that with the RS... (the package came with limited slip rear end and higher gears and beefier suspention and a few other things to offer) this is what mine has, its basicly a FULL Z28 with a V6
